The Tree Farm

My
favorite
Christmas
tradition...

Going to
the tree farm
North of New Castle.

up and down

rows of trees

See the tracks
of rabbits
and deer!

We check out
the Pines...

Firs

Spruce

Personally,
I love the
Charlie Brown tree!

Do we want
the long soft needles
of the graceful
white pine?

Or the hefty branches
of the spruce
to uphold
our beloved
ornaments?

I like the firs
for the
sweet, warm scent
next to a roaring fire
drinking
hot chocolate.

No, no!

I want
a plantable tree!

Several years
we tried and failed.

But look at
this blue spruce!

- once it lived in our great room
now it's 20 feet tall
and filled with birds.

I love the tree farm.

Playing hide and seek
between the trees.

Al and I
went on a field trip
down this lane once...

...to hear
a barred owl call...

Who cooks for you-oooo.

Now the farm
is for sale.

Twenty-two rolling acres.

Hundreds of trees
filling the land.

I'd love to buy it.

I'd love
to keep
the trees.

Let them grow
with abandon.

Fill this land
with hawks
and rabbits,
foxes
and owls.

Hear the songbirds
playing hide-and-seek.

Walk among the firs
in the moonlight
and smell the scent
of Christmas.

Santa...
I know
what I want
this year...
