Biking to Wisconsin?

My
crazy
girls...

You'd
think...

they're
in
a
contest...

to see
who
can worry
Mom
most!

Crazy
Al

is
biking
solo...

to
Wisconsin!

The
morning
paper
greets me
with
muggings...

on the
Monon
Trail.

I Google
bike
safety
on the
internet...

and read
about
drunk
drivers.

What's
a
Mother
to do?

Al
bustles
about...

packing
minimally...

reviewing
maps...

gathering
supplies....

Good-bye
to
loving
Father
and
Kitty...

Wait!

I'm
coming
with
you!

At
least
to
Lebanon.

Al and I
visit
three
Indy
bike shops...

Shopping
for
a lock
for
Blue Jay...

and
Halt
for
Alex!

I'm full
of
motherly
biking
advice...

gleaned
from
my own
many miles
biking
solo.

Busy roads
have
some
advantage.

Less
dogs...

More
friendly
eyes
to be sure
you're
safe.

Call
me.

Ask
people
for
directions.

They may
even
draw
you
a map
in the sand.

But
above
all...

Be
careful...

Good-bye!

I
love
you!

  3. Dr. Steussy,

I see my first comment didn't post for some reason...

I am a friend of Ruby, who hosted your daughter in Crown Point recently on her way to WI.

I very much enjoy your blog and would like to add I'm glad Al made it safely to her destination. Ruby's hospitality is seconded by her wonderful Berner and Chi Welcoming Committee...I'm sure she was well taken care of during her stay there.

Safe travels to you and your family on your future adventures...

    Connie :-)

  4. Thank you, Connie.

It's so nice to discover such wonderful people in the world as we wander on our skinny two wheels!

  5. Indeed it is!

What's more, it doesn't matter on what we wander, as I am a fat tire gal myself. ;)

    Best wishes,

    Connie ("Outdoorsy Gal" on Facebook)
