Spinning

The sky looks like heaven today

and
I'm
biking.

knowing
that my Mom
is
near
dying...

and
my last child
is
near
graduating....

and
life
is
changing...

as
my
wheels
spin
away.

I'm
like
a
sandwich...

losing
its
breads.

They've
been
the
warp
and
weave...

to
the
pattern
of
my life.

Miles
spinning

Hands
thrumming...

Mind
numbing..

I
feel
disconnected.

A line of
bright catalpa trees
catch
my
eye.

Bright
Southern
tree
petals
remind me
of
Mom.

remind
me
of her
bright
Virginia
childhood.

Fallen
petals
remind me
I'm
losing
her.

Each
day
I ask
TJ...

How
many
days
left?

Each day
for
Mom...

how
many?

It's hard
to
think
past
one
more day.

A
Legacy
Keepers
video...

Recorded
just
last
month...

reminds
me
of
her laugh...

her
smile....

her
vibrant life
of
sports....

and
technology...

and
family.

I
treasure
the
book
she made
me....

I
treasure
her
generosity...

giving
us gifts
from
her
long
life.

She wanted
me to have
her
crystal
globe

in
honor
of our shared
love
of
travel.

She gave
me
her own
Mother's
gold
necklace...

for our
shared
love
of
my Meme.

I can't
imagine
life
without
Mom....

spinning....

on...
