St Vincents

St.
Vincent's
Hospital.

10
days
of
blur.

10
days
of
hospital
food...

of
elevators...

hallways...

and
clocks.

so.
many.
clocks.

ticking
away
the
time.

My
Mother...

and
my
husband...

flirting
with
death...

my
heart
racked
with fear
of
losing
them.

for
10
long
days.

10
days
where
night and
day
confuse.

The
sun
just a glimpse
through
hospital
blinds.

The sky
a
brief
sliver
of
blue.

I
hunger
for
fresh
air...

and
free
sunlight

and
laughter.

But
Tom's
days
linger....

in
hospital
bed...

his
view -
a dismal
roof.

St
Vincents,
may I
recommend...

a
green
roof?

the
birds...

and
colors....

would
help
your
patients
heal!

But
the people
of St Vincents
are
wonderful...

Maria
cares for
Tom
like her own
brother.

Andre
joshes him
for too many
lady
visitors.

There's
our
surgeon,

our
6'4"
physical
therapist,

the
ministers...

and
dietary....

Tom
has trouble
with
dietary.

They
keep
bringing
his
meal....

and
forgetting
the
entree.

Tom
gets
visitors...

lots
of
visitors...

full
of
cheer...

and
flowers.

And
my
Mom...

has
Brother
Nic
and
Sister
Cally...

to
see
her
through.

10
days
of
hospital
living...

and
Tom
is
getting
scruffy.

Finally
ready
for
discharge...

Mom
to
Hoosier
Village...

and
Tom
back
to
Brixton...

To
his
Kitty.

Who
has
felt
neglected...

There's
a
long
recovery
ahead....

for
both
of
them.

But
we're
so
glad...

to
have
them
with
us....

Thanks...

to
St
Vincent's
Hospital!

Thanks to St. Vincents but I'm just happy they are both out and doing better =)

  2. As I occasionally wander by your adventures, I pray that this is just another bump in the road and all will be as God's plan unfolds. Blessings to all. Bob

  3. Thanks, Bob. I remember fondly our 100 miles together in Georgia.

And KC, yes, TJ and Liz went to Petsmart for dogwood and came home with a new catnip toy.
