Biking West Virginia

West Virginia
is
state
number
29!

And
they're
really
into
their
football!

You see,
when
Al and I
spent
the
summer....

biking
Mississippi...

and
biking
to
Missouri...

I decided
to start
counting
the states
I'd
biked in.

Wow!

28 states!

And
of course
once
you've
counted...

you
get
the
urge...

to
bike
all
50!

So
I say
good-bye
to Jeffery
Street...

to
Marshall...

and
Koda...

and
I head
out...

across
Ohio...

lots
of
Ohio...

to
West
Virginia!

It's a
beautiful
state!

Far
too
beautiful...

too
beautiful...

to
be
destroying...

for
coal.

Maybe
they'd
like
to be...

working
in
the
light....

working
in
the
light.

I stop
for the
night...

in
Lewisburg,
WV.

What
a
charming
town!

I take
to
my
bike....

...to
explore
my
29th
state!

Full
of
history....

and
wonderful
people...

See
these
boys?

They're
working
on
an
Eagle
Scout
project!

I'd
love
to
stay...

But
it's time
to go...

on

to

Virginia!!

Errands on Bicycle

What a
great
day
to run
errands!

Starting
early...

So
glad
I'm not
a
driver!

parking
at
the
dentist.

My
hygienist
wants to try
biking...

asks
me for
advice.

I say
rent
a
bike
at
Carmel
Cyclery...

and
try
it out.

The sky
turns
blue
while
I
dentify.

My
next
stop -

my
bakery!

Mmmm...

Best
bread
in town!

She's
a
loafer!

Spin
over
to my
camera
shop

Tricky -
fitting
my new
monopod
in my
bike bag.

Monon
Trail...

Beautiful
blue
skies...

Friendly
people...

I love
the
tall
grasses!

Bike
along
116th
Street...

over
Keystone
Avenue...

BGI

I need
a
new
casette.

Maybe
I need
a
new
bicycle?

Don't
worry,
Ripley.

I wouldn't
replace
you!

But
we are
getting
a new
BGI!

Gotta
stop
by
Wild
Birds...

Hmmm.

Seems
like
everyone
is biking
these
days!

I bike
back
over
the David
Wolf
bridge....

named
for
my
med school
classmate.

I see
we're
starting
to
get
fall color...

CVS...

I

I
need
sunscreen.

Beautiful
sky
as
I
leave
CVS.

Wilderness
Trail?

Does
anyone else
detect
the irony
here?

Stop
by
Suzes
and
get
flowers...

Chat
with
fellow
travelers...

Nearing
home...

Pulling
in
to
Spyglass
Hills...

Beautiful
flowers

My car
is
leaving.

Tom
is taking it
to the shop.

Brixton
Lane...

My mail lady
wants advice
on
bike
commuting....

I
say,
Do it!

Home...

Home...

My
Kitty.

My
prairie.

I love
running
errands
on
my
bike.
