Surprise!

It's not often
one of my kids
really
surprises me.

Here I had just posted
my blog
saying
Nicky
was timid...

she barely
dips
her feet
in the ocean.

On New Year's Eve
she told me
her resolution:

To get out
of her comfort zone.




What does
she mean
by that?

For college
she has stayed
close to home....

...while Al
hit California
for her college years...

with a brief stint
in Argentina...

And KC
has decided
Appalachian State
is her college home...

....with study
abroad
in Egypt.

Nicky has
settled
at IUPUI...

close
to home...

close
to her Stubby.

And now
she tells me
she's going to
Australia?!

Isn't that
1/2 the way
across the world?

And where
the heck
is Adelaide?

I'm giving up

trying 

to guess....

....what direction
these kids
will go....

how
far.
